The next Sore Fingers Course are now announced and booking forms are available to download.
As indicated, a new pricing regime has been agreed between LWC and SFSS. Please read on for the rationale behind this change.
New Booking forms
When we approached Lord Wandsworth College (LWC) as a new location for the Sore Fingers Summer Schools events, we were already halfway through our annual cycle, with about 80 bookings made under the system imposed by our previous location. To avoid disrupting the booking process, we agreed to compromise on our strategy for the first event and continued with the old regime.
Now that we are established at LWC, we have reassessed our booking policy and adapted our approach to align with LWC’s own processes. We have reached a general consensus that the new strategy is much simpler and less demanding in accounting terms for both LWC and Sore Fingers Summer Schools.
The new form will offer fewer accommodation options, with prices based on a package that includes a single or twin room, all meals, and tuition fees. Additional items such as the campus charge and single/twin room supplements have been discontinued. If you wish to share a dorm with friends, please indicate this on the form. The remaining options will essentially be “with meals” or “without meals.” Please note that the tent camping option has been discontinued, although we are considering an indoor camping option for Easter 2027, which is still a work in progress.
When comparing our prices to other camps across North America and some in Europe, we believe that Sore Fingers events offer great value. We have noticed that several camps advertising five-day events often only provide full classes for three days (i.e., you arrive on day one, attend classes on days two to four, and leave on day five). At Sore Fingers, you will receive a full five days of teaching along with various activities such as student bands, electives, and the fabulous showcase concerts.
All of us, including the students who attended Sore Fingers Week 2026, agreed that the move to LWC has resulted in an enhancement of the overall event experience. The facilities are much better maintained, and the school's layout is more conducive to centralising daily activities. One of the greatest advantages is the availability of single and twin rooms, allowing us to guarantee private accommodation as standard—a long-standing problem at our previous location.
