Sore Fingers October Weekend 2012
26th - 28th Oct 2012
Since 2006, we have offered a weekend of tuition at the usual location of Kingham Hill School to supplement our already successful “Sore Fingers Week” which is held at Easter.
The tutors for the weekend are recruited from a talented pool of UK based tutors most of which you will see performing with their respective bands at the summer festivals. Many have taught at Sore Fingers before or have attended as students. In addition to their natural abilities as musicians, they have acquired the special skills needed to teach groups of people and help them progress as musicians and players.
For those starting out on this great Bluegrass and Old Time journey, the October Weekend provides a way of dipping one’s toe in the water in anticipation of joining a full five day course at the Easter event. The buzz at October is very close to the dizzy heights we reach at Easter and if you enjoy the weekend, the Easter week beckons… a full five days of Bluegrass and Old Time heaven!
We offer classes covering all the main instruments in Bluegrass and Old Time, Bluegrass and Old Time Banjo, Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Dobro, Bass and Singing.
There’s no basic level required for joining a course at Sore Fingers and if you are a beginner, this is exactly the place you should be thinking of coming! No nervous moments isolated in the confines of a personal teacher’s music room. You will be surrounded by many who like yourself prefer to be in a group to receive their first lessons.
But, the weekend is by no means a beginners course and the more experienced players will benefit from few pointers from the UK’s cream of the crop. That’s the beauty of music, there always something new to learn and our tutors are all ready to let you into their secrets.
